What happened?

Sofie, 13, has grown up in a family home. When the social services thought she might be in danger of sexual abuse from a guy in the family home, they quit the family home.

But even though the guy has now moved, she must not come home again.

How did that happen?

Sophie's biological parents have disabilities that prevent her from living with them. But they are still her guardians, and want her back. Therefore, Sofie does not have the right to a legal hearing about coming home to the family home.

Who are involved?

Sofie, who says she has not suffered any sexual abuse. In sms, she describes the sudden move as "a horrible nightmare".

"I'll fight to come home again," she writes. SVT has been looking for her for two months but has not been able to talk to her, since the social service said no.

Sophie's family home parents and siblings she grew up with. Mamma Minna accuses herself of not being able to transfer custody. "We have had such a good collaboration with the social for more than twenty years, I never thought they could do this".

Sophie's biological parents , who never wanted her placed away to begin with, "I don't know her so well today," says her mother.

The social service that placed Sofie in a family home at birth but who for thirteen years left the biological parents with custody, even though they feel that they will never be suitable parents.

What were the consequences?

Sofie is now placed on an HVB home. She may not have her own computer or mobile and the home goes through her mail. For several months she has not been able to call or send messages to her family home, siblings or relatives.

What do those responsible say?

They do not want to comment on individual cases. But the documents state that they see that she was traumatized by the social services move her. Their plan is that she will now receive trauma treatment at the HVB home, reconnect with her biological parents and eventually get a new family home.

"First, we need to help her stop being traumatized and start living, and start seeing XX and XX (the biological parents) as mom and dad."

Footnote: Sofie, Minna and Jocke are in fact called something else.
