Detention negotiations against the policeman who for almost nine minutes pressed his knee against George Floyd's neck began yesterday evening, Swedish time. The event was filmed and the clip spread throughout the world. Then followed massive protests against racism and police brutality.
SVT's US correspondent Stefan Åsberg is in Houston, Texas and has followed the arrest negotiations.
- It was a rather short appearance by Derek Chauvin, who is the prime suspect in the police. He was on a link from the prison where he is locked up, Åsberg says.
