Answering a question from CNN about possible manipulations with coronavirus statistics in Russia, Peskov said he did not agree with such an assessment.

“You did not think about the possibility that the Russian health care system is more effective,” the spokesman said.

Peskov also noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin makes decisions without caring about his personal rating.

“President Putin has stated many times that he does not care about his personal rating, that in politics, if you are a real statesman, you don’t need to think about your rating,” he added.

Earlier, Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin did not consider the removal of restrictions on the coronavirus in Moscow, which was announced the day before by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, to be rapid.
