Sunday afternoon, the body of a man in his twenties was discovered by a walker in the Costières canal, in Bellegarde (Gard). Traces of beatings were found on the body. Two men had been taken into police custody.
We now know a little more about this mysterious case, which involved the police Nîmes: the victim and the two in question knew a long time, and lived in the same neighborhood, told Midi Libre Eric Maurel, prosecutor the Republic of Nîmes.

“The day of the facts, they left for an evening all three in a neighboring department, continues the magistrate. They seem to have consumed a lot of alcoholic beverages. During this evening, relations were strained, between the victim and one of the accused. It was during the return to the Gard that the drama occurred. "
The two men are suspected of having violently attacked the victim, striking him, in particular in the head with a stabbing weapon. They are then accused of having transported the body of the young man, deceased, to the Costières canal.
An autopsy was carried out to clarify the precise causes of death.
