It was at lunchtime on Monday on Route 520 that the man collided with three cars, rammed into the ditch and then began to act aggressively against both road users and police. He must also have had a fellow passenger who is at risk of death.
The man, who was born in 1991, is now under arrest in Växjö on suspicion of attempted murder.
The reason for the crime classification is, among other things, testimony of his driving before the crashes, which indicates that he deliberately drove to kill people, according to Samir Cehic, the internal police officer in Växjö.
"That's what we suspect," he tells SVT Småland.
How do you proceed with the investigation?
- We have worked full time all day with questioning, then there is investigation with the car to be done.
The investigation is now being handled by prosecutors. In addition to attempted murder, the man is suspected of gross negligence in traffic and drug drunk driving.
Police are calling on anyone who has seen or heard anything to contact them to chart the course of the incident before the crash.
