This weekend a two meter long python was found in a bush cage in Danderyd.

- It lay there, hux flux, and frightened blows at the residents around it. They called the police who came and stayed at a proper distance, says Jonas Wahlström, director of the Skansen aquarium.

Lives at Skansen until the owner is found

The police contacted Skansen directly and after the species was identified and the police were assured that the snake was harmless, they were able to transport it to the Skansen aquarium.

- Here it will stay for a couple of weeks to come. It is formally lost because no owner has heard of it. It is not so easy for a python to escape, so it may be that someone has wanted to get rid of it, says Jonas Wahlström.

It is unusual for such large snakes to be released into the open air, and that a python has been in the room only once before what Wahlström can remember. However, he says, it is common for turtles to be released when the owners get tired - only in Stockholm more than 30 pieces are submitted each year to the aquarium.

- They hope it will be found and taken care of by others.

The snake is feeling well

The python worm, which because of its albino with yellow elements, is unusual and expensive. When found, it was unusually slim, but according to Wahlström it felt good.

If the owner does not hear of it, the police can leave the Skansen aquarium to find a suitable home, probably another zoo, for the snake.
