George Floyd had to end his life pressed against the street during an intervention where a police officer pressed his knee to his neck for 8 minutes and 46 seconds. His death was the start of world-wide demonstrations against police violence against blacks.
The funeral ended six days of grief ceremonies for Floyd in three cities.
Floyd gets his last rest next to his mother's graveyard at Houston Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
- I think about how he screamed for Mom. I know where our mother is, she's right there. She has her hands outstretched, said brother Philonise Floyd, who spoke at the funeral.
- Now I want to see justice for my brother. My big brother.
A police officer is charged with suspected murder. Another three police officers are suspected suspects. All face up to 40 years in prison if convicted, Reuters reports.
