The decline continues in the intensive care units in France. The number of serious cases of Covid-19 requiring hospitalization in intensive care has dropped below 1,000, with 955 patients, 69 less than the day before, according to a report released on Tuesday, June 9, by the Directorate General of Health (DGS). We have to go back to March 18 to find a daily report showing fewer patients in intensive care (931).

The country also recorded 87 additional Covid-19 deaths, including 53 in hospitals, bringing the total number of deaths in the country to 29,296 since the start of the epidemic.

This assessment is divided between 18,912 deaths in hospitals (+53) and 10,384 (+34) in nursing homes and other social and medico-social establishments whose data had not been updated since June 2.

The number of people hospitalized for Covid-19 infection continues to drop to 11,961 patients from 12,315 on Monday, or 354 fewer in 24 hours.

In terms of contamination, the Public Health agency France reports Tuesday evening of 403 additional confirmed cases for a total of 154,591 since the start of the epidemic.
