Today, on June 9, 2020, police have arrested a man aged 40. He is suspected of the double murder. After 16 years of investigations in which thousands of men have tops and important evidence has been secured from the beginning, we now hope that the police have found the right man.
For all the years that have passed, we who work on local media in Linköping have tried to bring clarity to this painful story. It has characterized much of my professional life as a journalist in Östergötland - it is a case that we are constantly returning to and where every straw to find answers has been important.
Should we finally know who performed the deed and why? My thoughts go to the families this day.
