Tunisia confirmed today, Tuesday, for the sixth consecutive day, that it is free of any new infections from the newly created Corona virus, which enhances the chances of the tourism sector regaining its activity soon.

According to the latest update of the Ministry of Health, Tunisian laboratories did not record any new infection locally, as well as the same among expatriates, to settle the number of infections at 1087 cases since the outbreak of the virus began, of which 982 people recovered until today, while the number of deaths stabilized at 49 cases.

With the curfew lifted since Monday, the movement in restaurants and cafes has returned until late hours.

Tunisia is preparing to open the border completely to international flights, starting on June 27, and the government expects the tourists to return to the hostel in July.

Today, the Ministry of Tourism published a protocol that includes health measures that must be followed by tourists wishing to spend their holidays in Tunisia, and it includes hygiene, sterilization, physical spacing in swimming pools, restaurants, and leisure activities.

“Tunisia has prepared a new classification called Ready and Safe (compulsory and safe), which is a compulsory classification that has been developed according to international standards, and all activists in the sector must adhere to it,” said Tourism Minister Mohamed Ali Toumi.

Tourism activities have been completely halted by the virus since the start of the general quarantine on March 22, which led to a 36 percent decline in the sector's revenues until the end of May this year compared to the same period in 2019.
