Sharjah Municipality and the Prevention and Safety Authority called on the owners of buildings and residents to install protection systems for balconies and windows, to avoid incidents of children falling from them, while they spend their entire hours of the day indoors due to the preventive measures taken by health authorities in the state to confront the spread of the new Corona virus (Covid 19) ).

It also warned of illegal behaviors, some of them practicing while on the balcony, such as burning coal and throwing cigarette butts.

The municipality defined seven procedures, saying that making sure that they are in the windows ensures that children are protected from falling, and that residents avoid the consequences of ignoring them.

The authority also confirmed that it has implemented training, awareness and educational programs for housewives since the beginning of the Corona pandemic, and has published many warning advice through social media platforms, to emphasize the importance of public health and safety, and to warn of the dangers in homes, most notably balconies.

In detail, Sharjah Municipality warned the emirate's residents against neglecting children while they are in the homes due to the current crisis, which the whole world is going through to reduce the Corona virus, pointing out that leaving the balcony uncensored may cause children to fall from it.

It also warned against the irresponsible behavior of some residents, such as burning charcoal while on the veranda, or throwing cigarette butts from it, pointing to fires as a result of committing this type of behavior.

The municipality has defined seven procedures to secure balconies and windows, and to avoid accidents, which are completely refraining from storing items and luggage on the balcony, so that children do not climb them.
