The Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office has asked to carry on the bench the businessman Juan Muñoz Támara , husband of Ana Rosa Quintana , and 13 other people for crimes of extortion and discovery and disclosure of secrets .

Prosecutors in the case have submitted a letter to the judge of the National Court that investigates the activities of the jailed former commissioner José Manuel Villarejo asking that the piece investigating the possible extortion of a Malaga businessman and his lawyer be terminated.

The prosecutor considers that everything necessary in the so-called Painter piece has already been investigated and that the so-called transformation order must be issued in an abbreviated procedure, which is equivalent to prosecution, formalizes the charges and supposes to terminate the instruction phase to proceed to that of prosecution.

The Prosecutor's Office has communicated that when Judge Manuel García-Castellón dictates that order, he will present an accusation brief in which he will request the conviction of 14 people. Among them, Juan Muñoz and his brother Fernando, as well as Villarejo himself, his partner Rafael Redondo, and several lawyers, detectives, and even police who, according to the Public Ministry, participated in the extortion.

According to investigators, the Muñoz Támara brothers went to Villarejo to force former judge Francisco Javier de Urquía to convince a businessman who was his client to reach a pact with them in the judicial cases they had in common. The maneuver also sought to detect patrimony to that client so that he faced responsibilities before the Treasury that otherwise fell on the brothers.

A compromising video

Villarejo offered a compromising video for the former judge in the bathrooms of a disco. The commissioner would have claimed 200,000 euros for his work, although the brothers finely disbursed 20,000. Those encounters, like all the ones he had, were recorded by the commissioner and found in the investigation into his activities. In the recordings on this matter, Villarejo is heard to say to the brothers, referring to the former judge: "The CNI recorded it bluffing and I am going to redo this recording, which I think I can locate ... Of course, he is not interested in going out in some medium or on YouTube with some parakeets and sticking a shiver. "

The prosecutor's request comes after the Muñoz brothers last week gave a statement before the judge at their own request. According to sources present in the statement, in that appearance both tipped the responsibilities towards Fernando. For his part, Juan, Ana Rosa's husband, offered to repair the damage done, one of the ways to soften the eventual sentence. As for the television presenter, she has never been charged. The investigation places her in a meeting with her husband and Villarejo and his wife in which the businessman's problems were discussed and subsequent meetings were agreed in which the extortion had already been addressed.
