Thursday, students met on the beach of Carnota, in Galicia (Spain) to party, despite the sanitary rules still in force. Alerted by residents, the police went on site and arrested the 38 participants of the evening. Instead of punishing them, however, they preferred to ask them to clean the beach, says local media La Voz de Galicia .

Gatherings of more than 15 people prohibited

Galicia is one of the least affected regions of Spain by the coronavirus pandemic. However, public gatherings of more than 15 people are still prohibited. Despite this, students mainly in Erasmus had decided to meet to share a "bolleton", a Spanish practice which consists of drinking on the public highway.

When the police arrived, the students showed no resistance and immediately agreed to clean up the premises.
