The Investigative Committee opened two criminal cases against a man who opened fire from a window of a residential building in Moscow. This was reported on the website of the department.

“According to investigators, on the evening of June 7, 2020, an unknown person opened fire at passers-by from the window of an apartment located on Stroiteley Street in Moscow. At least one person suffered from the actions of a man, information about the victims is being clarified, ”the Sledkom statement said.

In the UK, it was clarified that during the operation to detain the attacker, he opened fire on special forces, in connection with which they were forced to use weapons.

In respect of the man, a case has been instituted on attempted murder and hooliganism, as well as a case on the assault on the life of a law enforcement officer.

In turn, the press service of the capital’s headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs specified that during the detention the shooter resisted and was injured.

“Currently, the residents of the house are not in danger. Earlier, as a
result of the shooting, which the man opened, two passers-by were injured, ”the department said.

A source in RIA Novosti in operational services said that the drunken man had fired, but this information was not officially confirmed.

At the same time, a resident of the house where the shooting was carried out told the agency that he had heard about 15 shots from the window of the neighboring entrance.

“He defused the clip. He then recharged. Then there were single shots. There were about 15 in all, ”said an eyewitness.

Another resident of the house, who was returning from the store at the time of the incident, stated that she had heard about five or six shots.

“I saw that there were two women standing at the entrance, the man (the victim. - RT ) was already lying,” she said.

According to the agency’s correspondent, the security forces who arrived at the scene began negotiations with the person who started the shooting. Some time after the start of the detention operation, shots sounded at the entrance, screams and noise were heard. The special forces asked to bring an ambulance to the entrance.

The motives of the attacker are still unknown, and it is not reported which weapon he fired from.

The shootout lasted several minutes

At the end of May, unknown persons opened fire at the Yasny residential complex on Kashirskoye Shosse in southern Moscow. According to eyewitnesses, a shootout was arranged by several motorists who could not part in the parking lot. The shooting lasted several minutes, after which the parties to the conflict disappeared into cars. At the same time, the Investigative Committee reported that one person was injured as a result of the shooting. 

“On May 24, 2020, in a car park near residential buildings on Kashirskoye Highway in Moscow, a man was injured as a result of firing,” the message on the GSU SK website in Moscow said.

In early April, in the village of Elatma, Ryazan Region, a man shot a company of five people. According to investigators, a man from the balcony of his apartment made a remark with a group of young people who spoke loudly under his windows. After a hassle ensued, he took a hunting rifle, stepped out into the porch and shot four men and a girl. All five of the wounds died on the spot. 

The police detained the murder suspect, he was a local resident born in 1988. Police officers found the gun in his apartment. The Ministry of Internal Affairs specified that the weapon was registered.

In February 2020, a shooting incident occurred at the Central Market of Kaliningrad. Then the suspect fired several shots from a hunting carbine at three passers-by. A man and a woman died on the spot from injuries, and their son, a 13-year-old teenager, was hospitalized with a gunshot wound. The attacker committed suicide. The cause of the conflict, as reported by law enforcement agencies, was personal hostility.

In January, a 45-year-old man fired at a court building in Novokuznetsk. He killed the bailiff and seriously wounded the woman, after which he was detained by the deceased's colleagues and employees of the Russian Guard. According to preliminary data, the shooter turned out to be a man who was a victim in a criminal case on intentional destruction of property.
