"If the health doctrine allows it": the Minister of Sports Roxana Maracineanu declared Monday not to dismiss the idea of organizing the finals of the Coupe de France and the Coupe de la Ligue with 20,000 spectators in the stands, in accordance with the wish of the French Federation.

According to RMC, the president of the FFF Noël Le Graët hopes to go beyond the maximum gauge of 5,000 people currently set by the government to avoid the spread of the coronavirus during sporting or cultural events.

"Today, it is 5,000 people. We will obviously work so that, if the health doctrine allows, the gauge can increase," replied the Minister, invited to respond to this project.

"Now, there are other points to consider than those of a football match which are taken into account. The problem of 5,000 people does not affect only one sector. Decisions are taken in interministeriality", a- she continued during a press conference at the Ministry of Sports.

The finals of the Coupe de France (Paris SG - Saint-Etienne) and the Coupe de la Ligue (Paris SG - Lyon) could kick off the resumption of football in France in late July and early August.

They are scheduled at the Stade de France, in Saint-Denis, which can accommodate more than 80,000 spectators in normal times.

"We are well aware that welcoming 5,000 people to the Stade de France is not the same thing as in a sports hall or sports hall with 10,000 seats. It is above all, for us, how the supporters go to the stadium, with what means of transport. That is why we want to make the actors of events as well as the spectators responsible for proposing a protocol which makes it possible to insure everyone ", concluded the Minister. .
