On Friday begins the unique trial of former Swedish Ambassador in Beijing, Anna Lindstedt. She is accused of having negotiated with representatives of Chinese interests on her own initiative. - There was no hidden negotiation, she said in the interrogations of the Security Service.

After the first trial last Friday, Defense Attorney Conny Cedermark said:

- Anna Lindstedt has denied crime and done it on very good grounds. Omnipotence is about negotiation and foreign power. None of the prerequisites are met. Therefore, the defense believes in an acquittal.

The Act on self-sufficiency in negotiation with foreign power reads:  

"Swedish citizens, without the permission of the government or the government authorized the sound farming themselves as agents of foreign powers in diplomatic affairs related to the kingdom, so also everyone who the alleged capacity as authorized representative engages in the act of such affair with someone representing foreign power interest, sentenced for self-sufficiency in negotiation with foreign power to prison for a maximum of two years or, if the kingdom was at war, a maximum of four years ”   

Source: Chapter 19 of the Criminal Code, fourth paragraph    

Chapter 19 of the Criminal Code also includes other crimes against the national security such as high treason, gross espionage and unfaithfulness in negotiating with foreign power.
