How did the people of Ile-de-France experience the Covid-19 health crisis where they were? What do they think of their employment and leisure prospects just after confinement? What lessons do they draw from this period on their future practices, once the crisis is completely over? These are the questions posed by the Paris Region Institute which publishes the first results of a survey * conducted from May 5 to 19, 2020 by Médiamétrie with more than 3,000 Ile-de-France residents.

Results: 83% of Ile-de-France claim to have experienced containment well, 17% claim to have experienced it badly. 39% of active residents of Ile-de-France used telework during confinement. And 70% of Ile-de-France residents now think of changing at least one of their habits in terms of cultural / sporting and leisure activities.

"Pointed out"

"They live in the region most affected by the pandemic, the densest, probably the most stressful, and have sometimes been singled out when they went green in other regions. However, almost nine out of ten Ile-de-France residents stayed in the capital region, with differences depending on the departments of usual residence, ”we analyze at the Institut Paris Région.

And to clarify: “Contrary to certain preconceived ideas, a very large majority of Ile-de-France claim to have lived their confinement well, very well even for a fifth of them. At the other end, the fact remains that this experience was difficult for 17% of Ile-de-France residents, which will have to be questioned. ” Regarding deconfinement, less than one in two workers now plans to resume a “normal” activity and one in six Ile-de-France residents plans to change their mobility behavior once the epidemic has passed.
