A couple was arrested by soldiers from the Saint-Ambroix gendarmerie company. The two people are suspected of having specialized in counterfeiting: they stuck or sewed big brand logos on first-rate clothing to resell them at a high price on retail websites.

According to the investigation carried out by the gendarmes, the couple resold the clothes thus made up in the Alès basin, in the Gard.

45,000 euros of criminal assets seized

During their search, the soldiers seized approximately 400 counterfeit items, two vehicles used for deliveries, multimedia equipment and cash. All for a value of 45,000 euros in respect of criminal assets.

The prosecution requested a suspended sentence of five months.
