Still in the running in more than 120 municipalities, Marine Le Pen's party is counting on a few victories, notably in Perpignan, where Louis Aliot came first in the first round, but also in Vauvert in the Gard, or even in Moissac in the Tarn -et-Garonne.

Three weeks before the second round of the municipal elections, can the National Rally stand out during the polls? In the running in more than 120 municipalities, the party of Marine Le Pen, which currently has eight mayors throughout the territory, hopes to conquer new municipalities, and has a particular eye on Perpignan.

At the RN, everyone agrees indeed that it is "the moment" of Louis Aliot. The latter came in first in the first round in Perpignan with 35% of the vote, and will be in a duel against the outgoing mayor LR supported by a republican front at least cracked, since three walkers announced that they would vote Louis Aliot.

"The momentum is on our side" smiles an RN manager, who nevertheless remains cautious: "If we lose, we will have municipal councilors, if we win, it will be the icing on the cake".

Disappointment in Marseille

In Marseille, the first round was however disappointing for Stéphane Ravier, who finally came in third position with 19% of the votes while the polls gave him much higher. "Even to keep his town hall sector, it will be hard," concedes an elected official, who hopes that the bonus to the outgoing will play in his favor.

The RN nevertheless bet on some surprise victories: Vauvert in the Gard, Moissac in the Tarn-et-Garonne, or Marles-les-Mines in the Pas-de-Calais. But we are far from the tidal wave hoped for a few months ago. The course is already already set on the preparation of the next elections: the departmental, regional, and of course the presidential.
