France has recorded 13 new deaths in hospitals related to the Covid-19 epidemic in the past 24 hours, the lowest daily toll since March 14, before confinement, according to the government's website on Sunday.

The total number of deaths now stands at 29,155 in France since the start of the epidemic, including 18,805 in hospitals and 10,350 in nursing homes and other medico-social establishments (the results for this sector have not been updated since June 2).

The number of people hospitalized in serious condition in intensive care continues to decline, with 6 patients less in 24 hours, to 1,053, according to this assessment updated Sunday. This is the lowest figure since March 18.

It thus continues its permanent decline since the beginning of April when the peak in intensive care had been reached with more than 7,000 patients in serious condition (for a national capacity in intensive care of the order of 5,000 beds before the crisis).

These figures were posted online on the government website, while the Directorate General of Health (DGS) said on Friday that it would not publish a new report for the weekend.

While France began the second phase of deconfinement at the start of the week, after having put in place an unprecedented containment of the population for two months between March 17 and May 11, the Covid-19 epidemic is "in great controlled party "in the country, confirmed Sunday the president of the scientific council, Pr Jean-François Delfraissy.
