This is stated in the list of instructions following the meeting on the development of genetic technologies, published on the Kremlin website.
“To ensure the development of individual training courses and disciplines (modules) in the field of genetics for general educational organizations and organizations of additional education for children, as well as organize advanced training for teachers in this subject area,” the list indicates.
The government was also instructed to provide for the creation, functioning and financial support of national bioresource centers in the areas of implementation of the Federal Scientific and Technical Program for the Development of Genetic Technologies for 2019–2027.
In addition, the president instructed to ensure the creation of domestic laboratory and scientific equipment, "allowing world-class research in the field of genetic technology, as well as the production of consumables for it."
Previously, Putin proposed the creation of a National Genetic Information Base.
The head of state also noted the contribution of Russian geneticists to the fight against coronavirus.
