The interest organization is concerned about Västerås city's current plans for a new travel center. This will lead to difficult provisional solutions for many years, says Evert Andersson, vice chairman of the association.

- The current station can be retained as a base and then you can build a space above the track area with waiting areas and some service, he says.

"Don't want to make the same mistake"

Sanna Edling project manager at Mälarporten and Västerås new travel center thinks that it is serious and sad that the TIM commuters have a negative image of the new travel center.

- We listen and are happy to have an ongoing dialogue, but it is not easy to understand how it is connected. This is a travel center that will meet a growing city for 15-20 years. It is an approach that it will last for 75-100 years to come. We do not want to make the same mistake as last time the travel center was built over 20 years ago. Then it got too crowded quite early afterwards, she says.

In the clip above, Evert Andersson talks about what is important to think about in a travel center focusing on commuters.
