The alarm about a fire a villa in Vilhelmina urban area came just before 5am this morning. When the rescue officer arrived at the scene, it was already a fully developed fire.

Jonas Hahlin, who is the external director of the operation, says that the fire is not currently under control.

- Our forecast is that it will take one and a half to two hours before it is under control. The fire has spread to the construction of the building. The fire is serious in such a way that it is a total injury, he says.

One person to hospital

There are ten people from the rescue service working on the extinguishing work. The police have a patrol in place to support the operation.

- It is a person who was discharged by ambulance to Lycksele. The person was talkable when they went, says Jonas Hahlin.

In an important message to the public, the rescue officer urges everyone in the area to go indoors and close doors, windows and ventilation.

- We have issued the VMA because the fire is in the urban area and it is low in the roof, ie gray mud so the smoke does not rise straight up, explains Jonas Hahlin.
