Usually, there is an upturn for the timber industry in the spring when companies such as Södra wood deliver wood to various building chains. But this spring, when we have been subject to travel restrictions due to the corona pandemic, both Södra wood and Vida see that sales have grown unusually sharply. Many stay at home and refurbish when traveling is impossible.

Got short-term permit

When the corona pandemic came to Sweden, Södra wood saw a decline in sales and short-term, 125 employees in Mönsterås at half-time. But after a few weeks the demand increased and the staff got to work full time again. Several services have been added in Mönsterås and extra staff have also been hired at the office in Långasjö.
