Today, Friday, the Israeli occupation forces suppressed the Palestinian marches that took place in separate areas of the occupied West Bank, on the 53rd anniversary of the June 1967 war (setback).

Hundreds of Palestinians went out in marches in the towns of Bil'in and Ni'lin (central), Kafr Qaddum and near the Jabara checkpoint in Tulkarm Governorate, and the towns of Haris and Qusin (north), in addition to the northern Jordan Valley region (northeast), and hundreds participated in a march in the city of Hebron (south of the West Bank) .

Participants in the marches - which were called for by the national factions - raised the Palestinian flag and the faction flags, and chanted slogans condemning the Israeli occupation and its repressive practices.

The occupying forces used rubber-coated metal bullets, sound bombs and tear gas to suppress and disperse the demonstrators.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said that a Palestinian was shot in the head after the Israeli forces suppressed a march that exited in the northern Jordan Valley, and was transferred for treatment.

The setback and the annexation decision
. On June 5, the Palestinians commemorate the 1967 war, which resulted in the occupation of Gaza, the West Bank, Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, and the Syrian Golan Heights.

The anniversary of the setback coincides this year with an Israeli decision to be implemented in early July, to annex the Jordan Valley and settlements in the West Bank to Israeli sovereignty.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has pledged to annex settlements and parts of the West Bank, including the Jordan Valley, and will submit from July 1 his strategy to do so.

In turn, the secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Saeb Erekat, said in a statement on Friday that the continuation and consolidation of the occupation day after day is a legal, political and moral responsibility of the international community, "which faces one option: either to enable our people to exercise their right to self-determination , Or keep the region captive to the cycle of chaos and violence. "

"Our people will remain steadfast on their land, adhering to the legitimate rights guaranteed by international laws, foremost of which is their right to self-determination on their land, the independence of their state on the borders of 1967 and its capital, Jerusalem, the solution of the refugee issue in accordance with Resolution 194, and the release of all prisoners," Erekat added.

For his part, the coordinator of the national and Islamic forces in the city of Ramallah said that a central demonstration is being arranged to commemorate the "setback" next Monday in the center of Ramallah, where the Palestinian presidential headquarters is located.
