“The Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Czech Republic received a note from the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs with notification of the expulsion of two employees of the Russian diplomatic mission,” the Facebook statement said.

Diplomats noted that it was "a fabricated provocation."

The embassy called this decision an unfriendly move that "was originally based on unsubstantiated allegations in the media."

According to the diplomatic mission, this indicates that Prague does not want to normalize "Russian-Czech relations that have recently degraded through no fault of ours."

Earlier, Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Andrei Babish said that two employees of the Russian embassy were declared persons non grata.

According to him, such a decision is connected with the story of the alleged transportation of the poisonous substance ricin to the Czech Republic.
