“Everyone who participates in the demonstrations should be tested on COVID-19,” he wrote on Twitter.

Wals said that with symptoms of the disease, a citizen must pass a coronavirus test five days after participating in the action.

On May 29, Wals decided to bring in US National Guard fighters to maintain order in connection with the unrest that erupted in the region due to the death of African American George Floyd.

Floyd died in late May, shortly after being detained by police officers. One of the group of policemen held him, pressing his neck with his knee.

Floyd's death led to riots in dozens of US cities, which continue to this day.
