The Community of Madrid will pass on Monday to Phase 2 of the de-escalation, as EL MUNDO has learned. The Minister of Health, Salvador Illa, has informed the Madrid counselor, Enrique Ruiz Escudero, in a telephone conversation held a few minutes ago.
Among the data provided by the Community of Madrid to request the phase change is that the number of hospitalized patients has dropped by 97%, reaching below a thousand (specifically 527). Those admitted to the ICU have decreased 90% to 150; and the deceased 98% (according to the last record, on Thursday, seven deaths were recorded).
In addition, the Ministry of Health continues to work on the control of suspicious cases through the tracker system. Since May 11, 89,446 PCR tests have been carried out to detect Covid-19 (3,727 on average per day) and 2,368 have tested positive. This means that only 2.6% of suspected cases have tested positive.
