200 teams were registered for this year's cup, which would take place at the end of July. Now you have to set the aim for 2021 instead.

"It is a sad thing to give the message to all the guys and girls who are looking forward to joining, but it is also a heavy message for Vimmerby IF as an association, together with other associations with which we collaborate," Vimmerby IF writes in a press release .

Millions of money disappear

For Vimmerby IF, the cup is an important part of the club's finances. It is also a setback for Vimmerby as the municipality as the visits generate millions in revenue for commerce and the hospitality industry.

"We hope that all teams that visit Vimmerby and Bullerby Cup year after year have an understanding of our decision and that we will all see you again next summer," the club writes.
