According to the Paris police headquarters, the police intervened at around 9 p.m. for a brawl involving some twenty individuals after the on-site irruption of a "group armed with batons and tear gas canisters which degraded the inside the drinking establishment and assaulted customers ”. One wounded man was taken care of by the emergency services without his life-threatening being compromised.

The Zouaves Paris (heirs of the GUD) attacked this Thursday evening the Saint Sauveur, historic antifa bar, "armed with pickaxe handles". "It is the radical far right, the fachos, who attack"

"There were a lot of people on the square, regulars at the bar, locals, passers-by, children ... When, shortly after 9 p.m., a group of about twenty people appeared from the top of the street , armed with pickaxe sleeves and rushed over to the people at the table, "said a manager of the bar, Saint-Sauveur, in a press release.

“It is the radical far right, the fachos, who attack. They ransack the terrace, attack people on the square without distinction and flood tear gas in the bar where a large number of people have taken refuge, "continued the bar team.

“This type of bullying only strengthens our beliefs. We will continue to defend the anti-fascist spirit of this neighborhood, ”she concluded.

Police sources confirmed that the attackers belonged to far-right groups.

" Investigation "

"The investigation carried out by the direction of security of proximity of the Parisian agglomeration (Dspap) must make it possible to determine the circumstances of this brawl", one said to the prefecture of police.

This attack comes seven years after the death of the young anti-fascist activist Clément Méric, on June 5, 2013, during a brawl between far-left activists and far-right skinheads, after a chance encounter in a private clothing sale.
