The hospital in Älvsjö was ready to receive covid-19 patients at the end of March-April, but the Stockholm region and the hospitals in the county have considered that they have managed to take care of coronas infected at the existing hospitals.

The hospital in Älvsjö has therefore not been put into service during the pandemic, which has received criticism. As the hospitals in the county now reduce the number of intensive care places, Älvsjö Hospital is discontinued.

- The fact that we are now decommissioning Älvsjö hospital is not a signal that we should relax when it comes to following the recommendations of the Public Health Authority, says Björn Eriksson.

According to the Stockholm region, around 100 covid-19 infected persons are cared for in intensive care in the county. According to Björn Eriksson, health care is in need of the need for health care and the need for intensive care to decrease significantly more and much faster.

- We had hoped it would not look this way. It goes down very slowly, says Björn Eriksson.
