The Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Center has announced the launch of a scientific platform that provides a number of analytical studies on natural and human phenomena, and their impact on environmental resources in the Emirates, and is the first of its kind in the region that focuses on an in-depth study of the environment based on remote sensing and image processing systems GIS and artificial intelligence.

The platform works as a basic base in which to include any new study in order to enable the beneficiaries and the scientific community in general to benefit from the studies and scientific research offered by the center, this came during a press conference, the day before yesterday, to announce the launch of the platform.

The Center stated that the platform contains a package of analytical and research studies that will be provided periodically to government agencies, and is concerned with studying various environmental aspects such as monitoring natural phenomena and the extent of their impact on environmental resources, such as water, air quality and vegetation, and follow-up of changes that occur on the coasts of the country and studying phenomena that have Reflections on marine life, such as the phenomenon of red tide and others, noting that the completion of the preparation of 20 analytical studies included in the scientific platform.

The platform is characterized by providing analytical studies interactively, which allows the beneficiaries to identify the environmental changes that occur in a specific area during a specific time period, to define the identity of these changes and compare them to another time period, and come up with a specific scientific interpretation, also this interactive feature can also track the characteristics of a specific phenomenon , So that the user can obtain accurate statistics regarding the percentage of changes, and determine whether they are positive or negative.

The general manager of the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center, Youssef Hamad Al-Shaibani, said, "The impact of this platform will not be limited to the field of environmental sciences, but rather will contribute to achieving the developmental vision of the Emirates in building a sustainable competitive economy by encouraging innovation, research and development, and enhancing strategic decisions of the main agencies working in UAE".

Engineer Saeed Saeed Al-Mansoori, Head of the Application Development and Analysis Department at the Center, stated that the scientific platform completed by three employees at the center, and provides services for free to the concerned authorities, contributes greatly to supporting the growth of strategic sectors of government entities, especially as the launch of the platform highlights the endeavors that you are making The United Arab Emirates to support the journey of smart transformation, and the integration of innovative technology solutions, pointing out that the center adopts the same progressive thought that supports the Emirati vision.

He stressed that the studies provided by the platform are not limited to government departments, but that the benefits of this scientific platform can extend to other bodies and institutions not concerned with environmental phenomena, such as real estate development companies, universities and educational institutions.

Studies are available for various authorities

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Center confirmed that the scientific platform is available, and different authorities can benefit from it, because of its diversity in topics.

He explained that he adheres to the scientific method in extracting these reports, which depends on four main steps, which include identifying the phenomenon through the center's devices and advanced techniques, then setting the hypothesis of the phenomenon based on the experience of the specialized team, then after that comes the stage of ascertaining the validity of the hypothesis or denying it through They undergo several tests, and put them under long trial periods under various variables.

Through the experiment, the results of the data are obtained to be displayed through graphs to facilitate the analysis process, up to the stage of the conclusions, which are made by linking the data to each other, and converting them into information of scientific value, which is the last stage in which an integrated analytical study is extracted. , Necessary to enable decision makers to make informed decisions.
