Read moreThe former Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, does not take offense. He even refuses to participate in the transfer of power this Thursday with his successor and former ally Avdullah Hoti, of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), reports our correspondent in Belgrade , Laurent Rouy .
The new cabinet was ratified in Parliament by a heterogeneous coalition and a tiny voice in advance, but above all in contradiction with the Constitution, which specified that Kurti, at the head of the 2019 elections, should have had a second chance to form a new government.
In this express change, the role of the American administration was essential. Washington wants to quickly restart negotiations between Kosovo and Serbia, which Kurti refused. Donald Trump would like a final agreement between the two countries before the US elections. Kicked out, Kurti doesn't give up. Demonstrations to support him should take place on Friday.
Supporters of Vetevendosje (VV), the left nationalist party of Albin Kurti, whose name means self-determination, have in recent days held " rehearsal " demonstrations against the new cabinet, warning that larger movements are becoming " inevitable " " VV had arrived at the head of the legislative ones of October, just in front of the LDK. These elections had consecrated the historic defeat of veterans who had dominated political life since the independence of Kosovo.
