In Rennes, the Star network is entering the second phase of its deconfinement. Idling for two months, the transportation network had already started to recover on May 11 by running 100% of metros and 80% of buses. The city had therefore bet on a high level of service to better enforce health rules. But for now, it is not jostling on board buses and metros with "about 40 to 45% of the usual attendance," said the Star in a statement.

From Monday, the pace will further accelerate to reach "95% of the usual supply at this time". The metro will therefore resume its pre-crisis hours with service from 5.15 to 0.45 am Monday to Saturday and from 7.25 am to 0.45 am on Sunday. The Kennedy Relay Park, the last one that was still closed, will also reopen.

Wearing a mask is always compulsory

It is on the bus network that the ramp-up will be most visible. All the lines will thus resume their usual timetables, especially in the evening when the service stops so far at 9:30 p.m. Lines serving peripheral municipalities of the metropolis will also be put back into service.

Health rules will also become a little more flexible on the network. If wearing a mask is still compulsory, boarding the buses will be done again by the front door. Drivers will also be able to sell a “breakdown ticket” on buses. But to limit the return of change, the top-up will be compulsory. "If the passenger has no change, he will either have to buy several tickets, or agree not to pay the right price," said the Star.
