They have been closed since mid-March and the first containment measures. While the coronavirus epidemic still threatens the country, swimming pools are still orphaned by their swimmers in Rennes. Very requested on the question, the municipality has just announced an experimental opening of the Villejean swimming pool as of Monday, June 15. The Bréquigny and Gayeulles basins should also reopen "by the end of June", promises the city.

Since the deconfinement measures, the municipal services have worked on the redevelopment of the changing rooms and disinfection protocols necessary to comply with the sanitary conditions imposed by the government. An online slot reservation system should also make it possible to regulate flows and avoid grouping at the entrance to the basins. The platform is being developed.

Works at Saint-Georges, which remains closed

In order to meet demand, the city has extended the opening hours from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday to Sunday. Swimming lines will be in place in the morning and in the evening and the pools will be in playful format in the afternoon. Swimmers must use the same cabin before and after swimming and take a three-minute soaped shower.

Note that the Saint-Georges swimming pool will remain closed. Listed as a historic monument, it is currently undergoing maintenance work.
