“Among these seven organizations are one military-controlled financial institution, three military-owned hotels, two military-owned diving centers, and one military-owned marine tourist park,” the US Department of State said in a press release.

Washington said the profits from these organizations were allegedly used to “oppress the Cuban people and finance the intervention in Venezuela.”

In November 2019, the United States updated sanctions on Cuba for the 500th anniversary of Havana.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Moscow categorically does not accept Washington’s anti-Cuban sanctions.
