Summer is here and many are waiting for the Public Health Authority's message to be able to plan their vacation. It is about domestic travel - but also other advice and guidelines to prevent the spread of infection.

First a message would come on June 3rd, then it was talk of May 29th. But nothing has been published yet.

- They will come during the week we hope, but we do not own the issue entirely ourselves. There are many involved and many will be affected by such a decision, ”Anders Tegnell said when asked questions about it at the daily press conference on Wednesday.

"Living in uncertainty is not good"

For the hospitality industry, the message can be of great importance, as it can open for increased travel within Sweden. The industry organization Visita is critical to its delay.

- I can't understand why it should have to pull out like that at the time. It is better to be clear and then adjust during the journey. This with living in uncertainty is not good, neither for those who are going on vacation or for us who will take care of them, says Jonas Siljhammar, CEO of Visita.

Now he hopes for clear messages from the Public Health Authority.

- Above all, we need clarity, whether it is shorter or longer journeys. 1-2 hours is almost like saying "how long is a string?". We cannot plan and conduct operations based on the ambiguity that exists today, he says.

Several factors must be considered

Anders Tegnell says that a number of different factors influence the decision. For example, the effects that increased travel would have and what opportunities there are for managing them at local and regional level.

"Everyone who needs" is involved and influences the decision, he hopes.

- Our credibility depends more on us making good and well-thought-out decisions than we do on a certain date. Sometimes it takes a little longer than we hoped and then it must do it, because it's better that it gets right than it gets fast, he says.

- What is a little tricky is that the situation looks very different in different parts of Sweden, says Emma Frans in the Morning Studio on Tuesday.
