“If we faced this disease, knowing everything that we know now, then I think we would have taken an intermediate position between Sweden’s current strategy and what the rest of the world has done,” he said.

Tegnell pointed out that Sweden should have expanded the restrictions imposed in the country with additional measures. At the same time, he added that it is difficult to say which steps would be right.

At the same time, the epidemiologist, answering the question of the journalist, admitted that there were too many premature deaths in Sweden.

“There was a way to prevent this,” he pointed out.
