The latest report broadcast by the newspaper "Israel Today", which is close to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu two days ago, and related to a desire to give Saudi Arabia a foothold in occupied Jerusalem, reveals the great pressure that the Kingdom of Jordan is exposed to, amid the latter's hinting of an upcoming clash with Tel Aviv. .

According to Jordanian politicians, what the newspaper published - in addition to many news reported by Israeli media during the recent period - comes in the context of the Israeli quarrels targeting the Kingdom.

And "Israel Today" has talked about secret meetings held between Tel Aviv and Riyadh since last December, to give Saudi Arabia a foothold in the Department of Endowments in the blessed Al Aqsa Mosque.

There are those who see that this step aims to blackmail the King of Jordan personally as the owner of legal guardianship of Islamic holy sites in the occupied holy city, in response to his repeated rejection of the Israeli ideas related to annexing the valley, and warning him that such a step would lead to a major clash between Amman and Tel Aviv.

Muhammad bin Salman and Jerusalem
Jordanian sources say to Al-Jazeera Net that the Israeli-Saudi talks are not a new development, as the past two years have witnessed similar talks between Tel Aviv and Riyadh, with the aim of engaging Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman with custody of the holy sites.

While the newspaper quotes a Saudi source as saying that Amman's position has changed due to the increase in Turkish influence in Al-Aqsa Mosque, a senior Jordanian source says to Al Jazeera Net that there is no change in the composition of the Jerusalem Endowments Council, which is formed by a decision of the Jordanian Cabinet.

The source denied the existence of any talk about changes related to the structure of the council, which is formed for a period of two years, ending the beginning of next year.

A prominent Jordanian politician close to the decision-making circles stressed that Amman views King Abdullah's guardianship of the holy sites as an untouchable issue.

He stressed that in the event of annexation or his participation in the guardianship of the holy sites, the king may withdraw the ambassador from Tel Aviv, expel the Israeli ambassador from Amman, and perhaps resort to the freezing of the peace agreement.

The source also did not rule out resorting to the gas bill, referring to the agreement to import liquefied gas from Israel signed between the two parties, amounting to $ 15 billion, which was met with widespread public disapproval in Jordan.

King Abdullah warned against a clash with Israel if it annexed lands in the West Bank and the Jordan Valley

Denunciation of Jordan
Former Minister of Foreign Affairs Marwan Muasher spoke to Al-Jazeera Net about a great Israeli dissatisfaction with the Jordanian position on the issue of annexation, which explains from his point of view what he called an attempt to "denounce" the Kingdom through the campaign that targeted it through some Israeli media.

Al-Muasher saw that tampering with the Hashemite guardianship of the holy sites means, in sum, tampering with the peace agreement signed between Amman and Tel Aviv.

He pointed out that the claim that Jordan showed flexibility to change the status quo in Jerusalem is "a kind of lie" and that in the event that Israel makes an annexation, this requires a radical review of the Jordanian-Israeli peace agreement.

Is gravely missed
his part , Mamdouh al - Abadi , he said Deputy Prime Minister and former Jordanian to the island , " the newspaper reported Israel today is gravely missed that it was true."

But he added, "The information should not be taken from the Israeli press."

He added, "The talk about a Jordanian fear that derives from a Turkish role in Jerusalem is incorrect. Turkey strongly and strongly supports the Hashemite guardianship of the sacred places, and it is well known that Jordan, which supervises the Aqsa for more than a hundred years, is the most capable to play this role."

"We are facing a bilateral challenge ... Hashemite guardianship and annexation of the valley, so all options are on the table, and the clash between Amman and Tel Aviv can go in several directions, starting with the closure of the Israeli embassy in Amman and the withdrawal of the Jordanian ambassador from Tel Aviv, through the cancellation of the gas agreement." And security coordination on the borders and ending with the abolition of the peace agreement. "

Analysts expect Jordan to review its agreements with Israel if it implements the annexation of the Jordan Valley

The peace treaty remains,
but the writer and political analyst Hassan al-Barari disagrees with Abadi, and believes that Amman will not end the peace treaty and freeze the gas agreement in the event of Netanyahu's annexation, but it will intensify its diplomatic effort, especially European, to discourage Israel from that.

And he considered that Jordan is under double pressure from Israel and Saudi Arabia, not only these days, but for a long time.

Al-Barari felt that Israel wanted to reward Saudi Arabia for its support in the deal of the century, by creating a foothold for the crown prince in Jerusalem at the expense of the king.

The writer confirmed that Oman today punished its position on its refusal to annex the valley.

Al-Barari went further when he said that the ancient Israeli theory that saw the security of the Hashemite Kingdom as a red line had changed a lot.

He concluded by saying that the future of the Kingdom of Jordan is no longer important to Israel in light of the presence of other allies, such as Saudi Arabia and the Emirates.
