The Pentagon announced that it will not allow newly appointed soldiers to serve on US bases in the Arabian Peninsula to take their families, without clarifying whether it was for security reasons or other reasons.

The Pentagon said in a statement that the decision will enter into force within thirty days, and it will be implemented over the next two years only if it is not extended.

According to the decision, the soldiers working in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, Iraq, Yemen, Sultanate of Oman and Kuwait will shorten their service life without their families to 12 months only.

As for the soldiers working in Bahrain, they will not be allowed to take their families until after 18 months.

In late March, the Pentagon ordered a moratorium on travel and movement abroad for about two months in an effort to limit the spread of the Coruna virus among members of the military.
