This is stated in a message on the website of the GSU SK in the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.

As the department reminded, in the late evening of May 31 from a resident of the village of Lenino a message was received about the disappearance of her 6-year-old granddaughter, who went fishing with her father and his friends in the afternoon.

On June 1, divers of the Ministry of Emergencies discovered the body of a missing child at the bottom of the North Crimean Canal.

“As a result of a complex of investigative and operational measures, involvement in the commission of a crime was established against the girl of a 39-year-old resident of the village of Lenino, who was a close friend of the family,” the site says.

As the investigation established, the girl’s father, while on the canal in a state of intoxication, released her daughter with a friend who volunteered to take her home.

“After this, along the way, the man, using the helpless state of the child, committed crimes of a sexual nature against her. Then, realizing that the girl does not know how to swim, he pushed her into the water, and as a result, she died from drowning, ”the department said.

The detention of the man became known on June 2.

During the interrogation, he confessed to the investigators, pleading guilty.

Earlier, a criminal case was opened against the girl’s father on the fact of leaving the child in danger, he was also detained.
