• Health: Lack of protection against Covid disgusts ambulance personnel

One of the side effects of the coronavirus pandemic could be diversification of workforce with multi-sector professionals in jobs that are now highly specialized. The presence of a toilet in these teams could be the spearhead in situations of risk. This is what the Satse nursing union considers to have asked the Government to facilitate the incorporation of a nurse as part of the cabin crew on flights with long-term aircraft, exceeding five hours, as this will "strengthen and will improve the care and prevention of the Covid-19 ".

The measure is designed to guarantee the safety of passengers against illness but also to attend to emergency situations or health changes. Satse recalls that before the pandemic, the work of nurses in many different work and social spheres other than health centers was already necessary, but this presence is now "essential" to combat the health crisis.

The union details that sometimes they are people without sanitary qualification, like hostesses or other travelers, who help affected people, which increases the risk. In this sense, the health personnel who go on cruise ships set an example. For this reason, they believe that these nurses should have adequate material to offer possible attention to passengers and crew.

In addition, the union has also asked the Government to have a nursing service at all airports to improve the care and prevention of Covid-19. They consider that they are the spaces with the highest risk of contagion due to the high influx of people every day, so this service would help prevent possible outbreaks. Satse recalls that the infirmaries of the airports where passenger traffic is less than eight million have been eliminated and that is why they ask Aena to re-enable them.
