• Direct: follow the coronavirus crisis to the minute

The Association in Defense of Public Pensions (ADEPPU) has filed a complaint against the Community of Madrid for a "regrettable management" of the coronavirus pandemic in which, according to him, he has been responsible for the crimes of "reckless homicide, vexatious treatment, prevarication, crime against the rights of workers and denial of aid . "

This association, which was born in 2015 and has state representation, has filed this Monday, June 1, a complaint before the investigative court number 42, on duty, against the president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, and the advisers of Social Policies and Health, Alberto Reyero and Enrique Ruiz Escudero , reports Efe.

According to the complaint, the "unfortunate management" that Ayuso and his two advisers have made "in his opinion, due to the deficiencies in health services during the health crisis , has made the Community of Madrid the first community in deaths from COVID-19 infection ".

They complain, among other things, that Ayuso's team did not intervene in private healthcare to use their resources and refer patients to nursing homes to these centers, "choosing not to do so and leaving them to die badly alone without their families generating pain "

In the opinion of the complainants, with the resources of private health and the three field hospitals that the NGOs lent themselves to setting up with the help of the Army, "the pandemic in the region could have been controlled and " given an opportunity to those over residences . "

In this sense, they criticize the fact that the Community chose to set up the Ifema hospital and to refer primary care doctors instead of making new contracts.

And they also criticize that although the president and the advisers "knew the conditions in which" the residences were found , they did not do "nothing to fix the situation", such as distributing protection material for workers who care for the elderly.

But above all they accuse Ayuso of having dictated a sanitary protocol six days after declaring the state of alarm in which "the 'exclusion criteria' are established that prevented taking older patients to hospitals, including physical or mental disability of the resident".

"It was with the arrival of the military, the UME, that the alarm went out in the face of the serious situation in which the users of the residence and their caregivers were. In the 475 nursing homes in the region and 235 for people with disabilities and with mental illness have died 5,828 people due to or suspected of having a coronavirus since last March 8, out of a total of 7,337 deaths registered during that time in these centers, "added the document.

Another reason for reporting is the number of health professionals infected by COVID-19, "11,669 health workers, about 13%", infections "caused" by caring for patients "without any personal protection against the virus, since the one provided by the Ministry of Health was insufficient and of poor quality. "

"We understand that the medical services at the start of the pandemic in the Community of Madrid were diminished for three reasons : the PP government cuts since 2012, the adjustments to reinforce the IFEMA hospital and the large number of health personnel casualties "he argues.
