As noted, earlier the traffic police could issue numbers with three-digit codes starting only with the numbers 1 or 7.
Now in registration marks it is allowed to use all digits from 1 to 9 as the first digit of the code.

The head of the Russian Federation of Car Owners of Russia (FAR) Maxim Yadryshov, in an interview with Izvestia, said that the appearance of three-digit region codes in the autonomy will not affect the drivers in any way.
“Adding numbers other than 7 and 1 to the region number region code was only a matter of time. This will not affect the cost of insurance and the rooms themselves. Actually, this should not affect car owners at all, ”Edryshov said.
He added that three-digit codes are much more relevant for Moscow, where there are questions with the fact that the numbers end.
