The Regional Board is expected to make a decision next week and the background to the investment is the spring's work on the covid-19 outbreak, which has caused a great deal of stress throughout the region.

Employees in some businesses will not be able to receive four weeks of continuous vacation during the period June to August. All employees receive at least three weeks, Region Östergötland writes, in a press release.

Those who are forced to move their fourth holiday week to this fall are proposed to receive an extra compensation of SEK 1,600 per day, in addition to the extra compensation stipulated in the collective agreement.

Extra compensation for extended holidays

- I have full understanding that the employees who are forced to postpone their fourth holiday week this fall are disappointed. That is why we are introducing extra compensation for each extended holiday day, says the regional council Alexander Höglund (L), 1st Deputy Chairman of the Regional Board.

It is also proposed to increase the health allowance from 1 July 2020 by SEK 1,500 to SEK 3,500 per employee and year.
