The fresco in tribute to George Floyd. - DP / 20 minutes

This Monday morning, some onlookers photographed it. A fresco in tribute to Georges Floyd, a 46-year-old African-American who died of asphyxiation by a police officer, in the United States, Monday, May 25, was created on one of the walls of the Extraordinary Garden, in Bas-Chantenay, in Nantes .

The work was painted by Itvan K. of the Black lines collective, who made painting a means of struggle. This collective has already stood out in numerous frescoes on police violence or the Yellow Vests. They recently contributed to the restoration of the fresco in tribute to Steve Maia Canico, a young man who died on June 21, 2019 on the island of Nantes after a very controversial police operation.

This Monday, we realized that the message "Let us breathe" had been crossed out. As a reminder, the death of George Floyd has been wreaking havoc across the United States for several days.
