"The residents of the city are shocked and traumatized," says Alexandrine Sanchez, psychologist with the Association of living with the family (AVEF). With her colleague Sylvie Le Berre, they will be running a psychological cell this Tuesday morning to help witnesses overcome this shock. "The inhabitants were already very sad because of the confinement which was complicated in small apartments", points out this psychologist who has worked for 20 years in this sensitive city.
"Prostrate kids"
"There has been an aggravation of the violence," says Manuel Prieto, director of the AVEF. In 2018, after the settling of accounts, there were many collateral victims. Kids who refused to sleep alone, who were prostrate or who began to pee in bed. Since the start of the deconfinement, many families refuse to send their children back to school: "Many mothers are afraid to put them back in college or school because they are diabetic, so they are afraid of catching the virus" , explains Alexandrine Sanchez.
Police reinforcements
