Dubai Municipality stated that the products of the antibacterial brand COSMO, which are traded on the local market in the Emirate of Dubai, are products registered in the "My Product" system. The director of the municipality’s Health and Safety Department, Dr. Naseem Rafeeh, said that its safety, effectiveness and conformity with the specifications approved by Dubai Municipality have been verified, in addition to periodically removing samples from local markets for the purpose of analysis and conformity, and ensuring that all operations distributed in the markets are matched.

This came after the Saudi Food and Drug Authority warned of the "Hand Sanitizer Spary (Cosmo)" hand sanitizer product because it contains a lower percentage than the permissible limit of sterile ethanol and isopropanol.

Rafie told «Emirates Today» that coordination is underway with the company concerned with products in the country, towards verifying the circular issued in Saudi Arabia, and verifying the source of the samples mentioned in the circular, in addition to direct coordination with the competent authorities in the Kingdom for the purpose of taking the necessary Procedures in place.

The safety and efficacy of the product have been checked and conform to the specifications approved by Dubai Municipality.
