Former Iraqi Interior Minister Yassin Al-Yasiri denied the responsibility of the so-called "third party" for killing the protesters in the protest squares, and accused police and army officers of being behind this.

Al-Yasiri said - in an interview with a local channel on Sunday evening - that an investigation committee was formed in the file of killing protesters, headed by former Minister of Planning Nuri al-Dulaimi, and concluded that a number of officers were convicted of killing protesters, some of whom were sentenced to death, as happened in Wasit Governorate (south Baghdad).

Al-Yasiri pointed out that "the entire file is referred to the judiciary, and police officers and army officers have been convicted."

Former Defense Minister Najah Hassan Ali al-Shammari said earlier that the Adel Abdul Mahdi government had not given any instructions to shoot demonstrators in the protests that have rocked the country since early October, stressing that there is a third party behind the killing of the demonstrators.

Al-Yasiri's statements sparked reactions among Iraqis on social media, as some of the tweets demanded accountability from the Interior Minister and those involved in the killing of hundreds of demonstrators, while others called on the Iraqi government to urgently investigate and hold those involved to account.

سبق Former Minister of the Interior, Yassin al-Yasiri,
there is no third party behind the killing of the demonstrators. Those who killed the protesters are a group of army and police officers whose file has been transferred to the judiciary!

Have you heard the judiciary talk about the killing of the demonstrators? Have you heard that an officer has been ruled? Al-Kazemi says we will achieve? And Al-Yasiri says we have achieved? It is correct pic.twitter.com/8o99BEIDBb

Political researcher Abdul-Rahman al-Jabouri said sarcastically that after killing Iraqi demonstrators, the third party would become a revolutionary scene of America's protests.

After the depleted bodies of the Iraqi youth
and the victory of the Tishreen youth by displacing his
third-party government , he abandons the philosophy of size and local sniping.
And it becomes a revolutionary scene for the ill-treatment protests in America. # Third party turns global
