In order to secure the future of the company, it has been decided to notify staff from several of the company's warehouses, a total of 250 services, of which 78 are in Halmstad. Today, the company has a total of 675 employees in Halmstad.
- We got a fairly immediate reduction in the volume of orders from mainly restaurants but also school kitchens when the corona virus came. Recently, we have seen a slight decline in volume as the summer weather has arrived, outdoor dining has opened and the pubs have found different creative solutions to keep the business going. But it is very uncertain how it will be for us this fall. That is why we must notify staff already, says Simon Tideman, site manager at Martin & Servera in Halmstad.
So it may be that notifications do not have to result in layoffs?
- So it absolutely can be. We may have a reverse situation this fall where we have to recruit new people to manage the business, ”says Simon Tideman.
